HELEN M. NIZNIK

Helen M. Niznik, 91, of Pringle, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Edwardsville, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Justina Semanek Mayerski and was a graduate of Edwardsville High School.  Helen was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville and enjoyed puzzles and word games. She also loved to watch the Warriors play basketball and an occasional trip to the casino.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Joseph, George and John Mayerski.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 65 years, Joseph J. Niznik Sr.; children, Joseph J. Niznik and wife Patti of Larksville, Christine Carolan and husband Michael of Allentown, Thomas Niznik and wife Lori of Wyoming; six grandchildren, Matthew (Kathleen), Joshua (Jacob), Emma, Adam, Nicholas and David; sister, Mary Ann Suda of Pringle; nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 10:00 am from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home 11 Wilson Street, Larksville with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Baptist Church, Nesbitt Street, Larksville at 10:30 am with Reverend Gerald Gurka officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, Pringle.

Friends are invited to join the family on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and Monday morning, from 9:30 am until time of service.
